I love making items for babies and kids. What can be more personable than handmade? You won’t find these items in a department store and you can be sure they’re one of a kind.
I’ve had fun looking back at some of the handmade baby shower gifts I’ve enjoyed making for friends. Here are a few of some of my favorites:
Airplanes: I loved this pattern by sewfunpatterns on Etsy. It was definitely fun to sew. I used Soft N Comfy Dot Fabric in red from Joann and the airplane fabric was from Hobby Lobby.
Along with the puzzle ball, I made at matching divider basket. This was definitely fun to make as well. The pattern is by noodle-head. She has wonderful patterns and steps are very easy to follow.
..And to top it off, I added two coordinating onesies as well. I used two images from my Silhouette file: cute plane and bi-plane using heat transfer vinyl that I wanted to try from Y2gifts on Etsy. Aren’t these cute? I think so. This was a great gift for mom and dad to be. I can see a future pilot heading our way!
Owls: This was one of my favorites. It is an appliqued dot blanket. Dot on one side and swirly on the other. For this project, I used Soft N Comfy Dot Fabric in ivory from Joann and swirl fur fabric in pink. I just love how this turned out. The owl applique is from GG Designs Embroidery called ollie owl.
There is also a coordinating owl that is done ITH (in the hoop). I had to make one of those as well since I could not resist. This blanket is super soft and cuddly and one of a kind.
Although these are not displayed in my Etsy shop now (coming soon), I am more than happy to take custom orders in the meantime if desired. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire. Enjoy.
